If you have a shingle hear and there on your roof that is raised above the others then you have a roofing nail that has worked loose from your roof decking and protruding into the shingle above it. You can repair this yourself by using a wonder bar to lift up the raised shingle so you can remove the protruding roofing nail and replace it with a ring shank roofing nail with a rubber washer. Place a bead of roofing sealant around the shingles near the edge so when you press it down the sealant will not be visible.
